POSITION SUMMARY:
This role collaborates with educational institutions to manage a Community Resource Center aimed at assisting families in navigating available services and support systems. Utilizing specialized software, the position provides tailored assistance to community members, empowering them to reach their personal objectives.
This is a FULL-TIME position, requiring 37.50 hours of work per week. Typical hours include:
- Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Wednesday, Thursday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Community Schools Coordinator and social work professionals to support families utilizing the Community Resource Center.
- Engage in weekly meetings with the Case Coordinator and Supervisor to discuss case progress.
- Participate in monthly team meetings to enhance community engagement strategies.
- Conduct outreach to foster relationships with families and students.
- Assist in the development and delivery of presentations for community partners.
- Respond promptly and compassionately to families experiencing crises, including issues related to housing, safety, and food access.
- Actively participate in community events to strengthen connections.
- Guide community members in identifying and accessing essential resources across various sectors to achieve their goals and enhance their well-being.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients.
- Advocate for clients, offering emotional support and promoting self-advocacy skills.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Case Coordinator and Supervisor.
- Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must possess:
- Knowledge of the local community and familiarity with the educational institution.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Effective time management abilities.
- Experience in data collection and entry.
- Understanding of community engagement strategies.
- Experience working with children and families.
- A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and other relevant software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to listen empathetically.
- Strong clerical and organizational capabilities.
- Dependability and flexibility in work responsibilities.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
Additionally, candidates must fulfill the following prerequisites prior to employment:
- Completion of necessary background checks and authorizations.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance coverage.
