The Lead Microsoft Systems Administrator will provide critical Windows engineering support, focusing on the construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows servers to support current and future systems and applications. This role involves collaborating with a team of server engineers to resolve issues across various systems located in multiple data centers. The Lead Microsoft Systems Administrator will be responsible for the implementation and design of Windows-based systems throughout the organization. This individual will manage assigned tasks and change requests while serving as an escalation point for support issues. Additionally, the candidate will research and collaborate with team members to apply new solutions and provide guidance on new application initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Windows OS-based devices through Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, and security protocols.
  • Administer both on-premises and cloud-based systems infrastructure.
  • Work with team members to execute server patching and maintenance.
  • Assess hardware and software procurement.
  • Manage over 2000 servers across various field locations.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Active Directory (Windows 2016 to Windows 2022).
  • Lead systems and infrastructure projects.
  • Adhere to incident, problem, release, and change management protocols.
  • Provide support for existing server infrastructure in a 24/7 on-call capacity as part of a team rotation.
  • Deliver high-level technical support for Tier-3 escalations.
  • Design and implement Citrix solutions.
  • Manage and monitor a Citrix environment.
  • Troubleshoot Citrix-related challenges.
  • Address security vulnerabilities within the Citrix framework.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience in server and systems administration, cloud infrastructure, and file/print environments, with a focus on Windows operating systems.
  • Must hold a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Server Infrastructure or possess equivalent experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Capable of working independently while being effective in a team environment.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks under time constraints in a fast-paced contracting setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Possess a friendly demeanor, helpful attitude, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
  • Experience in a home office setting and ability to train end users on common technical issues.
  • Skilled in providing technical assistance and support via phone; strong phone skills and previous customer service experience are highly desired.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities; capable of visualizing and abstractly addressing issues.
