Position Overview:

The Director of Cardiovascular Services is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and managing the operations of the Diagnostic Cardiac Services Department. This role involves recommending, developing, implementing, and assessing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures related to diagnostic imaging. The director provides support to upper management and is tasked with selecting, training, and supervising clinical, technical, and administrative personnel. Additionally, the director prepares and maintains departmental budgets and leads initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of patient care within the department.

  1. Essential Qualifications:

Professional Experience:

A minimum of five years of management experience in a relevant field with a robust background in Diagnostic Cardiac Services is required. Familiarity with IAC Standards & Guidelines for the Echocardiography Accreditation process is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); or

Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); or

American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required.

Medical Radiological Technologist (MRT) certification is necessary for Radiology, CT, or Nuclear Medicine.

Current CPR certification is mandatory.

Educational Background:

An Associate's degree in Applied Sciences in a related field is required.

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is necessary.

A Master's degree is essential.

9. Proficient in analyzing service delivery issues accurately, formulating recommendations, and taking appropriate actions to resolve them.

10. Capable of developing, evaluating, and maintaining accurate record-keeping systems, as well as preparing complex and detailed reports, procedures, and contracts.

11. Effective communication with administrative, medical, professional, and clinical staff, as well as community groups.

12. Ability to collaborate with other departments and organizations, both public and private, including medical providers.

13. Experience in training staff and coordinating activities of contractors, volunteers, and personnel as necessary.

14. Ability to work tactfully, empathetically, and effectively with diverse patient populations.
