About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Manager to join our team at Eversource Energy. As a key member of our Substation Engineering group, you will be responsible for leading a team of civil engineers and managing the planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering activities related to the design and construction of transmission and distribution substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of civil engineers and provide guidance and oversight of their work activities.
  • Develop and implement engineering and design strategies, civil substation engineering design criteria, standards, and material/equipment specifications for T&D substation systems.
  • Lead the standardization of civil engineering work practices, processes, and procedures across the states to facilitate the implementation of best practices and drive improvements to civil engineering processes.
  • Represent Eversource before Federal, State, and Local regulatory bodies and courts of law involving civil substation engineering and design matters.
  • Manage the preparation of regulatory approvals for T&D civil substation engineering related needs.
  • Develop and maintain engineering, design, construction, equipment, and material specifications, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Participate in various state, regional, and national organizations involved in the standardization of electric T&D substation materials & equipment, specifications, and construction designs.
  • Ensure that civil substation drawings are up-to-date and modified to reflect changes in the field.
  • Collaborate with other managers within Substation Engineering regarding all matters associated with Substation Capital projects.
  • Oversee the management and development of area staff, including implementing programs to ensure employees possess technical and behavioral skills required to support operating plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in related activities, including previous managerial experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

Eversource Energy offers a competitive total rewards program, including an annual salary range of $157,000.00 to $175,000.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Working Conditions

Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required. Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
