Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Planned Giving Officer to join our Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure planned gifts from individuals and families, with a focus on creating long-term relationships and building a legacy of support for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, providing exceptional stewardship and cultivating relationships through regular communication and in-person meetings.
- Develop and implement personalized plans to secure planned gifts, including bequests, charitable trusts, and other complex non-cash gifts.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to identify and solicit new opportunities for planned giving, ensuring seamless integration with existing fundraising efforts.
- Provide expert guidance on planned giving vehicles, tax implications, and estate planning, ensuring that donors receive accurate and timely information.
- Utilize technology and data analysis to track progress, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience in non-profit development or planned giving.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven success in donor-centered fundraising, with expertise in managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and their advisors.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices, as well as familiarity with CRM systems and other software tools.
- A competitive salary of $$80,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
