Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries and assist the Controller with the month-end closing activities.
  • Manage and maintain financial workbooks and schedules, including prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, loans, leases, and vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Update and maintain bank activity spreadsheets and related schedules.
  • Review weekly timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Process and oversee biweekly payroll and PTO accruals.
  • Code technical invoices for the Accounts Payable Coordinator.
  • Review and process expense reports and reimbursements.
  • Prepare documentation for external audits and inquiries.
  • Compile annual business personal property tax returns, business license renewals, and state annual reports.
  • Handle miscellaneous filings for governmental agencies.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the accounting system and payroll platforms.
  • Assist in training and delegating tasks to existing staff members.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of internal systems and procedures.
  • Participate in testing for system conversions and integrations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of three years of general accounting experience.
  • Experience collaborating with various levels of management and staff.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to accounting, payroll, and benefits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in the A/E industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Unanet and/or Deltek is advantageous.
