Project Engineer - Injection Molding

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at EPS Connects LLC. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and executing projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate projects, including establishing project criteria, coordinating project reviews, and ensuring proper implementation of project elements.
  • Specify equipment, develop manufacturing processes, and validate molds for successful transfer to Manufacturing.
  • Gather product requirements from customers, work with internal and external resources to research, design, and develop necessary project elements.
  • Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, engineering standards, and customer requirements and specifications.
  • Provide technical support for customers and internal project teams in areas of product design, material selection, mold design, manufacturing, secondary operations, validations, and other areas related to injection molding and tooling for medical devices.
  • Prepare, schedule, and coordinate assigned engineering projects, controlling budgets, schedules, and personnel performance to report project status.
  • Utilize project management techniques with internal and external teams, including action item lists, meeting minutes, strong communication skills, setting priorities, and seeking assistance as required.
  • Drive project timelines to support quoted lead-times, incorporating customer requirements for validation, pilot builds, and approval.
  • Work with program managers and other project participants to create more efficient project methods and maintain project profitability.
  • Review engineering tasks and initiate necessary corrective actions.
  • Complete successful development to meet customer deliverables, quality, and financial requirements.
  • Determine test and DOE objectives and contribute to validation protocols.
  • Ensure mold, process, or assembly testing is performed in a manner resulting in a robust manufacturing process.
  • Resolve issues found during testing.
  • Write and review project reports, including validations and summaries.
  • Organize documentation during the project, developing the Device Master Record (DMR) and ensuring internal documentation and systems are up to date at the time of Release to Manufacturing (RTM).
  • Provide internal support for the project after RTM and resolve any new issues that develop.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Plastics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with Injection Molding experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • Scientific injection molding principles, RJG Master Molder certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD software, Solidworks preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
