WIC Nutrition Program Manager

Established in 1837, Cuyahoga County's safety-net health system operates multiple hospitals, emergency departments, and health centers.
Position Overview:
This role involves contributing to both long-term and short-term program development. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, implement, and assess strategies for nutrition services delivered by the WIC program. Utilizing expertise in maternal, infant, and child nutrition, the manager will identify and address nutritional needs effectively. It is essential to ensure the competence and performance of the interdisciplinary team. All responsibilities must be executed in compliance with Federal WIC regulations, Ohio WIC Policies and Procedures, and the Cuyahoga County WIC Program (CCWP). The role upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: Must be a Licensed Dietitian (LD) as recognized by the Ohio Board of Dietetics (OBD). A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a licensed dietitian is essential. Strong communication skills and proficient computer knowledge are required. The ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds is necessary. Skills in analyzing, planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating systems programs and resources are crucial.
Preferred: Current Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credential from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP). At least one year of supervisory experience is desirable. A Master's Degree in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or Business is preferred. Proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.
Physical Requirements: The role may involve sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating intermittently throughout the day. Candidates should be able to sit or stand for extended periods. Normal visual and auditory ranges are required, with or without correction. Finger dexterity for operating office equipment is necessary. Occasional lifting of up to twenty-five (25) pounds may be required. Effective communication in face-to-face, phone, email, and other formats is essential. Ability to see computer monitors and departmental documents is required. There may be exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and chemicals.
