Diet Technician WIC Specialist

Under the supervision of a Registered and Licensed Dietitian (RD/LD), the Diet Technician WIC Specialist plans and delivers nutrition and breastfeeding education to Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program participants. The specialist assists the clinical flow and/or operations of the clinic by answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and performing registration functions. The specialist also issues and explains the WIC Nutrition Card (WNC) based on clinic needs and staffing levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver nutrition and breastfeeding education to WIC program participants
Assist with clinical flow and operations of the clinic
Answer telephone calls and schedule appointments
Perform registration functions
Issue and explain the WIC Nutrition Card (WNC)
Requirements:
Associate Degree in nutrition/dietetics from a collegiate program approved by the American Dietetic Association or the Ohio Board of Dietetics
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in virtual meetings
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Physical Requirements:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day
May need to sit or stand for extended periods
See in the normal visual range with or without correction
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required
May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion
