Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Diet Technician WIC to join our team at MetroHealth. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering nutrition and breastfeeding education to Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver nutrition and breastfeeding education to WIC program participants in accordance with federal regulations, Ohio State WIC policies, and Cuyahoga County WIC policies.
  • Assist with the clinical flow and operations of the clinic by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and performing registration functions.
  • Issue and explain the WIC Nutrition Card (WNC) based on clinic needs and staffing levels.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of MetroHealth.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in nutrition/dietetics from a collegiate program approved by the American Dietetic Association or the Ohio Board of Dietetics.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in virtual meetings.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a WIC clinic or related work/volunteer experience and/or education.
  • Experience in a high-volume office or patient registration area within a public health organization.
  • Fluency in writing, speaking, and interpreting multiple languages.
Physical Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. Must be able to see in the normal visual range with or without correction and hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
