Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Operations to join our team at Builders FirstSource. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall sales, operations, and production of our locations, ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of our locations, ensuring seamless execution of sales, production, and delivery processes.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, increase revenue, and improve market share.
  • Inventory Management: Develop and implement effective inventory control programs to meet location inventory levels and turns.
  • Human Resources: Recruit, hire, and train employees, as well as develop and implement staffing measures to reduce employee turnover and increase company profits.
  • Capital Improvements: Recommend capital improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all OSHA and DOT requirements, and support company safety initiatives.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and act as a liaison between employees and management.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budget accountability and reporting, and work to establish standard costs, operating budgets, and acceptable inventory levels.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Experience: Four years of related managerial experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in the building materials industry is required.
