About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff by maintaining a secure and organized environment.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Collect, document, and report data to the registered nurse to support informed decision-making.
  • Non-Clinical Duties: Perform non-clinical tasks as assigned by the registered nurse, such as administrative support and maintenance of patient records.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of our mental health services.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Certifications: CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. Crisis Prevention (CPI) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: One year work experience with children and adolescents seeking psychiatric treatment.
Working Conditions

Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities. Frequent interactions with patients that display poor impulse control and behavior outside of social norms.
