Job Summary

The Faith Regional Health Services Psychiatric Advanced-Care Provider (ACP) will work collaboratively with attending psychiatrists to provide comprehensive inpatient and consultation psychiatric services. The ACP will be responsible for the clinical evaluation and treatment of patients with psychiatric needs, including initial intake assessments, daily rounding, medication management, and collaborating with other providers.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ability to modify approach and procedures to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
  • Incorporate cultural considerations in the provision of care.
  • Knowledge of growth and developmental stages.
  • Consider life changes and their effects on health beliefs and behaviors.
  • Provide necessary safety measures.
  • Provide information and involve family/caregivers in decision-making.
  • Perform all responsibilities and duties required by Faith Regional Physician Services, addressing the unique needs of each patient.
  • Demonstrate accuracy, competency, and thoroughness in history taking, assessment, and evaluation of patient needs.
  • Record information on patient records in accordance with charting and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform technical aspects of patient care according to established policies and procedures.
  • Delegate and assign patient care as needed.
Abuse Protection
  • Identify high-risk, dependent relationships and take actions to prevent further physical or emotional harm.
  • Provide lifesaving measures in life-threatening situations.
  • Establish priorities for urgent treatment.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and ongoing treatment and clinical management.
  • Attend provider meetings and participate in specified hospital committee meetings.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement projects and other initiatives.
  • Document all patient encounters in a clear and well-organized fashion.
  • Maintain accurate health information charts.
  • Provide appropriate coding for each patient encounter.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities, including a strong self-image, vision for the future, and ability to influence others positively.
  • Work to maintain positive team relationships with coworkers, physicians, ACPs, and other healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and offer solutions.
  • Facilitate the implementation of change projects.
  • Enhance the collegial environment of the unit in a positive manner.
Essential Organizational Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend continuing education programs to maintain licensure and attend organization-sponsored training programs as required.
  • Maintain certifications as determined by department/clinic policy.

  • Facilitate problem resolution among coworkers, as observed by management and peers.
  • Demonstrate a constructive approach during all interactions with coworkers and management, contributing to the overall customer service program.
  • Promote the profession of healthcare workers in the community.
  • Present a neat appearance in proper attire and identification, as required by the position, department, and organization.
  • Continuously display a positive attitude within the department/clinic and across departmental lines to contribute to the overall customer service program.
  • Serve on committees and assist with programs to improve the quality of healthcare and promote good public relations.
  • Complete all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
  • Understand and adhere to Faith Regional Health Services Corporate Compliance Plan, Personal Conduct Policy, Grievance Process, Confidentiality, Safety & Security, Infection Control, HIPAA, and other departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Be able to remain awake and alert during working hours, with physical presence at the facility required during scheduled working hours to perform job functions.
  • Work in a timely manner, within the time allotted for the shift per census count.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
