We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Shock Analysis Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting various platforms, including CVN, Special Projects, VCS, and SSNX, contributing to the future of naval engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct dynamic structural analyses utilizing advanced finite element analysis (FEA) methodologies.
- Utilize pre-/post-processing tools such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, Abaqus, and Hypermesh to perform detailed analyses.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering calculation reports and validate structural analysis findings.
- Lead projects focusing on dynamic and transient analysis methods, including underwater explosion assessments.
- Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and development.
- Plan and execute project objectives effectively, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, a Master's Degree with 7 years or a Ph.D. with 4 years of applicable experience.
Preferred Skills:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your application:
- Experience in fluid-structure interaction and knowledge of structural response for naval vessels.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis software and first-principles methods.
- Familiarity with nonlinear material response and structural dynamics.
- Experience with shock qualification methods and high-performance computing systems.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
