The Field Sales Representative plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while managing a well-established client portfolio within a designated territory. This role is focused on nurturing relationships with existing customers and actively seeking new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic call plan to engage both regular and potential customers for order solicitation.
- Provide accurate pricing and credit terms, and prepare sales agreements for secured orders.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure product availability and timely deliveries.
- Maximize profitability through effective management of customer accounts and prospective leads.
- Track and report on all sales activities within the territory, including lost sales or rentals.
- Negotiate and finalize equipment sales to ensure profitability while enhancing market share in the region.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all product offerings and marketing initiatives to ensure effective representation.
- Establish and sustain strong working relationships with clients through various communication channels to exceed their expectations.
- Foster effective collaboration within the Riggs organization and with the client base.
- Engage in ongoing training and education regarding the equipment product lines offered by Riggs.
- Ensure long-term customer satisfaction through proactive communication and support.
- Participate in trade shows to promote Riggs products and services.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to gather and analyze information effectively, with a knack for developing alternative solutions.
- Experience in collaborative problem-solving environments.
- Skilled in managing challenging customer interactions and responding promptly to their needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrated ability to set ambitious goals, persist through challenges, and self-evaluate against standards of excellence.
- Willingness to take calculated risks to achieve objectives.
- Respect for cultural diversity and commitment to fostering a harassment-free workplace.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
- 1-5 years of sales experience, preferably in the equipment industry.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, commissions, and other financial metrics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Work Environment:
This position involves regular outdoor activities and may require occasional overnight travel. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Compensation:
Base salary plus commission. This is a non-exempt position.
