Overview:

Responsibilities:
The role involves overseeing inventory management related to the procurement, replenishment, and distribution of medical supplies. The inventory specialist is responsible for ensuring that all supply areas are well-organized and that inventory levels are maintained to meet the operational needs of the healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily restocking of supplies and manage inventory rotation to maintain accurate stock levels, generating orders as necessary.
  • Deliver medical supplies and equipment to various patient care areas while monitoring inventory levels to ensure optimal supply availability.
  • Identify and manage excess inventory, including returning stock and processing credits as needed.
  • Alert supervisors regarding expired or slow-moving inventory items.
  • Participate in the organization and validation of perpetual inventory items, including issuing and crediting materials within the inventory management system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in stock locations, ensuring proper labeling and handling requests for inventory adjustments.
  • Serve as a communication link between clinical staff and supply chain management as required.
  • Collaborate with buyers and the Divisional Inventory Coordinator to manage product recalls effectively.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

One (1) year of experience in supply chain management or a related field.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training:
Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize analysis in reports with minimal oversight.

Ability to remain focused and meet deadlines consistently.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Familiarity with Lawson system and automated ERP systems and processes.

Capability to process and present data in a clear and concise manner.
