Position: Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

Company: City of Arlington

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, this role is accountable for the acquisition of supplies, materials, and equipment at competitive rates for municipal operations.

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with vendors and municipal staff.
  • Analyze specifications, create bid documents, and assess vendor responses.
  • Manage and retrieve information within the financial management system.
  • Oversee contracts, mediate disputes, and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Facilitate training sessions for municipal employees on procurement protocols.
  • Generate purchase orders, explore supply sources, and compile reports as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of state regulations, local government codes, and procurement policies.
  • Knowledge of pricing structures, vendor networks, and product market trends.
  • Capability to draft equipment specifications and negotiate procurement contracts.
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in office technology and tasks such as data entry.

Qualifying Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline. A minimum of two years of experience in procurement or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check, is required for employment.
