Position: Supply Chain Specialist II

Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000

Location: Houston, Texas

Overview

The Supply Chain Specialist II will be responsible for managing forecasting, customer relations, procurement, scheduling, inventory control, logistics, and invoicing activities related to specific product lines and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the CRM system, maintain SAP order and forecast data, gather sales input, consolidate information, and provide availability updates for finished products. Develop and coordinate the procurement of raw materials and intermediates to align with production schedules in collaboration with manufacturing sites.
  • Process orders while maintaining comprehensive job files, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring effective communication with customers throughout the order lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage production schedules to fulfill domestic customer orders, exports, and inventory requirements.
  • Procure raw materials, intermediates, finished goods, packaging, and services to support production facilities, product lines, and customer needs. Collaborate with Corporate Procurement for designated material purchases.
  • Coordinate the transportation of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to meet domestic and international delivery timelines. Prepare and manage documentation for import/export brokers, freight forwarders, and customers, ensuring timely delivery and expediting when necessary.
  • Manage delivery, packaging, labeling, and shipments with both internal and external warehouses for production facilities and product lines.
  • Collect and document freight, storage, service, product, and metal costs essential for customer invoicing.
  • Work closely with Accounting and Finance teams to utilize SAP for transaction recording and accounting. Assist in resolving issues, closing activities, and preparing customer invoices, including product pricing calculations.
  • Support documentation requirements and processes to establish reliable and continuously improving operations, providing a foundation for training and backup support. Conduct operations in compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Provide training to coworkers and contract employees on relevant procedures and practices.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, technical field, or a related area is required. Equivalent work experience may be considered. A Master's degree is a plus.

Preferred certifications include CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, or other relevant supply chain professional credentials.

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience in logistics, procurement, scheduling, or customer service, including integrated supply chain operations.
  • Experience interacting directly with production sites, customers, and suppliers.
  • A solid understanding of domestic and global logistics, including transportation issues, rates, contracts, and cargo classifications.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Skills and Competencies

Proficiency in ERP software (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office applications.
