Overview:


The Retail Sales Training Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering sales and service education to retail teams across a specified area, with a focus on enhancing deposit and loan growth.

This position requires a solid grasp of essential sales training principles, including the implementation of strategies that yield measurable outcomes.

A successful Retail Sales Training Specialist will ensure that front-line staff are well-versed in banking products and services through various training methods, including in-person, phone, or virtual sessions.

The Specialist will evaluate sales metrics to pinpoint trends and identify training requirements that align with retail sales goals. Constructive feedback will be provided in a clear and direct manner.

This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $24.04.

Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with management to determine training needs.

Assess sales performance to target and analyze team effectiveness and trends. Tailor training or re-training as necessary based on performance outcomes.


Utilize an efficient sales process that maximizes productivity, consistency, strategies, and activities that drive results at every stage, including researching, prospecting, relationship management, upselling, presenting solutions, overcoming objections, closing sales, and following up.


Under the guidance of the Military Retail Admin Officer, design, coordinate, implement, and deliver training for both new and existing staff in areas such as product knowledge, effective presentation of products and services, marketing strategies, and activities that foster results and new business, cross-selling, client relationship building, and enhancing the overall client experience.

Make recommendations to improve training as needed.

Identify the most effective training delivery methods based on the subject matter, whether in-person, virtual, or via telephone.

Provide clear, focused feedback to banking center team members that emphasizes sales and service development.

Act as a subject matter expert and resource for sales strategies for banking center team members.


Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with all banking products, services, processes, systems, regulations, policies, and procedures to provide accurate and efficient information to retail teams.

Exhibit a strong desire and commitment to achieving results while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Support, schedule, track, and communicate training activities and related processes.

Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adapting communication styles for diverse audiences.

Maintain confidentiality of client information.


Ensure that the work environment is safe and promotes a positive bank image, including regular inspections and remediation of any hazardous conditions; consistent maintenance and cleanliness of the premises; compliance with all posting requirements; and provision of suitable spaces for associates to conduct banking operations.

Understand, embody, communicate, and promote corporate initiatives and vision, including the Bank's six Pillars of Success.

Regular attendance is required, working at the designated worksite or assigned remote location during standard business hours and/or assigned hours.

Perform other specified duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.

A minimum of two years of prior banking experience is required.

At least one year of training experience is necessary.

Two years of sales experience and knowledge of effective sales tactics are required.

Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and facilitation skills are essential for maximizing learning effectiveness and knowledge transfer.

Strong public speaking abilities with the capacity to engage learners throughout the training process are required.

Attention to detail, accuracy, and mental focus are crucial for performing tasks accurately amidst frequent interruptions.

A professional demeanor, self-discipline, initiative, confidentiality, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.


Must be capable of managing stress and prioritizing tasks; work may be subject to changing priorities with little notice.


Advanced knowledge of customer information systems, banking products and services, and the Microsoft Office Suite is required; familiarity with Power BI and other relevant systems is preferred.

Daily travel within the assigned local region is necessary, with minimal overnight travel required. A valid driver's license in the primary state of residence is required if transporting oneself.

Physical Requirements:
The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting. The position involves frequent, sustained periods of sitting as well as frequent, sustained periods of standing.

The role requires the ability to navigate the workspace to access entrances/exits, restrooms, conference rooms, or other areas within the environment.

Reaching may be necessary, involving the ability to move arms in various directions.

Office equipment, such as computers and telephones, will be utilized, necessitating the ability to manipulate a keyboard, mouse, and/or keypad.

The ability to interpret a computer screen or written documents is essential.

The ability to express or exchange ideas, impart information to clients, coworkers, or the public, or convey detailed instructions is required.

The ability to receive and comprehend detailed information shared through oral or written communication is necessary.

The position requires the ability to travel from one local work site to another via automobile or public transportation regularly and to travel outside the local area occasionally via airplane or other public transportation.

Exposure to outdoor elements may occur. The position may require occasional lifting and/or exerting up to 5 pounds of force.
