Overview:


The Retail Sales Training Specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering training programs aimed at enhancing sales and service skills among retail teams within a specified territory, with a keen focus on driving deposit and loan growth.

This position requires a solid grasp of essential sales training principles, including the implementation of strategies that yield measurable outcomes.

Successful candidates will ensure that front-line staff are well-versed in the bank's offerings through various training methods, including in-person, telephonic, or virtual sessions.

The Specialist will evaluate sales performance data to pinpoint trends and identify training requirements that align with retail sales goals. Constructive feedback will be provided in a clear and concise manner.

This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $24.04.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with leadership to evaluate training requirements.

Assess sales performance to target and analyze team effectiveness and trends. Tailor training or re-training efforts based on performance metrics.


Implement a robust sales methodology that enhances efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness across all stages, including research, prospecting, relationship management, upselling, presenting solutions, overcoming objections, closing sales, and follow-up.


Under the guidance of the Military Retail Admin Officer, design, coordinate, and deliver training for both new and existing team members in areas such as product knowledge, effective presentation techniques, marketing strategies, and activities that foster new business development, cross-selling, client relationship building, and overall customer experience enhancement.

Provide recommendations to improve training initiatives as needed.

Determine the most effective training delivery methods based on the subject matter, whether in-person, virtual, or telephonic.

Offer constructive feedback to banking center personnel that is focused on enhancing sales and service capabilities.

Act as a subject matter expert and resource for sales strategies for banking center teams.


Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all bank products, services, processes, systems, regulations, policies, and procedures to provide accurate and efficient support to retail teams.

Exhibit a strong commitment to achieving results while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Support, schedule, track, and communicate training activities and related processes.

Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adapting style to suit diverse audiences.

Ensure client information is handled with the utmost confidentiality.


Maintain a safe and welcoming work environment that reflects positively on the bank, including regular inspections and remediation of any hazardous conditions; upkeep of premises; compliance with posting requirements; and provision of comfortable spaces for associates to conduct business.

Embody, communicate, and promote corporate initiatives and vision, including the Bank's core values.

Regular attendance is required, working at the designated worksite or assigned remote location during standard business hours.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is mandatory; an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.

A minimum of two years of banking experience is essential.

At least one year of training experience is required.

Two years of sales experience with a solid understanding of effective sales techniques is necessary.

Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and facilitation skills are crucial for maximizing learning effectiveness and knowledge transfer.

Strong public speaking abilities with the capacity to engage participants throughout the training process.

Attention to detail, accuracy, and mental focus are vital for performing tasks amidst frequent interruptions.

A professional demeanor, self-discipline, initiative, confidentiality, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.


Ability to manage stress and prioritize tasks; work may be subject to shifting priorities with little notice.


Proficient knowledge of customer information systems, bank products and services, and Microsoft Office Suite is required; familiarity with Power BI and other relevant systems is preferred.

Daily travel within the assigned local area is necessary, with occasional overnight travel required. A valid driver's license in the primary state of residence is required for self-transportation.

Physical Requirements:
The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting. The role involves frequent periods of sitting as well as standing.

The position necessitates the ability to navigate the workspace to access entrances/exits, restrooms, conference rooms, or other areas within the environment.

Reaching may be necessary, requiring the ability to move arms in various directions.

Office equipment, such as computers and telephones, will be utilized, necessitating the ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, and/or keypad.

The ability to interpret a computer screen or written documents is essential.

Effective communication skills are required to express or exchange ideas, impart information to clients, coworkers, or the public, and convey detailed instructions.

The ability to receive and comprehend detailed information shared through oral or written communication is necessary.

The position requires the ability to travel between local work sites via automobile or public transportation regularly and occasionally travel outside the local area via airplane or other public transport.

Exposure to outdoor elements may occur. The role may require occasional lifting and/or exerting up to 5 pounds of force.
