We are seeking a skilled and personable financial aid consultant to join our team. This role involves engaging with students and their families to provide insights into financial aid options and other avenues for funding education. The consultant will assist in evaluating financial aid eligibility and guide applicants through the financial aid process. This position will report directly to the Director of Campus Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with all organizational policies and regulations, ensuring adherence to state and federal laws as well as accreditation standards.
- Address inquiries from students regarding financial aid applications and present various financing options available for their education.
- Engage with students to assess their potential eligibility for different types and amounts of financial aid.
- Respond to requests for assistance with financial aid information and related queries.
- Support students in the preparation and submission of financial aid applications as necessary.
- Follow up with students to facilitate the timely completion of applications and necessary documentation.
- Review Estimated Award Letters with students to clarify their financial aid packages.
- Assist in the finalization and packaging of financial aid for students each academic term.
- Undertake additional tasks or special projects as assigned.
- Maintain professional and effective relationships with all colleagues.
- Conduct oneself in a manner that positively reflects the organization.
- Perform duties on-site as required, with remote work options available when appropriate, subject to company policy.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an associate degree (bachelor's degree preferred).
- At least two years of experience in federal student financial aid (experience with Global Service is advantageous).
- Background in financial services, financial aid, or financial counseling is preferred.
- Customer service experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with Anthology student software is a plus.
