Job Summary

This role supports clinical intake operations and provides basic front-desk support. The successful candidate will maintain files, distribute documents, and process incoming and outgoing documents. They will also assist with completing intake-related duties, schedule appointments, and refer patients to more senior staff as needed.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. They will be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and maintain confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and receives files for area, ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.">
  • Distributes materials according to content of communications and departmental procedures.">
  • Sorts and distributes documents and forms for area section.">
  • Logs in materials with respect to time and data when applicable.">
  • Processes incoming and outgoing documents, secures appropriate signatures, and forwards documents/forms to correct destination based on pertinent Medical Center procedures.">
  • Maintains cooperative and professional relationships with physicians, nurses, and office and clinical staff.">
  • TYPES routine material such as forms and letters, envelopes, etc., neatly, accurately, and according to instructions.">
  • Answers patient questions to ensure understanding and patient satisfaction, or refers them to more senior level staff.">

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must have a High School diploma and three years of relevant medical clerical experience. Knowledge of medical terminology is required, and background in computer literacy is preferred. Excellent keyboarding skills are necessary, and light, accurate typing is required.

Prior experience in a physician practice setting is preferred, as well as knowledge of computer-based scheduling and appointment programs. Excellent telephone skills are also desired.
