POSITION SUMMARY

The Truckload Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading the Operations department while striving to achieve performance objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster high-performing drivers through daily engagement, mentorship, and positive reinforcement.
  • Collaborate with Planners to assign drivers to routes that optimize benefits for both the company and the drivers.
  • Ensure drivers meet home time expectations by effectively managing commitments.
  • Maximize profit and loss for all assigned vehicles and trailers.
  • Ensure equitable distribution of work among drivers while maintaining respect and fairness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers.
  • Proactively manage safety performance to meet insurance and claims cost targets.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
  • Utilize customer-issued scorecards to enhance service quality and meet expectations.
  • Participate in service-oriented conference calls for assigned accounts.
  • Streamline the billing process by managing discrepancies efficiently.
  • Engage with a designated number of customers to explore business opportunities and expand revenue.
  • Conduct driver performance reviews as scheduled by Driver Retention.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant departments to ensure timely dispatch of loads, adhering to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Monitor and report daily pick-ups and deliveries, addressing shipment issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Provide updates to leadership on problem loads and resolutions.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Support organizational objectives by assisting colleagues as needed.
  • Ensure regular attendance and fulfill on-call responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Transportation, Operations, or Logistics sectors

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, or a related field

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Effective communication skills to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to listen and understand problems to provide effective solutions.
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback and learn from experiences.
  • Capability to communicate across various levels of personnel and seek process improvements.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and maintaining professionalism under pressure.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of Transportation, Operations, and Logistics industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with TMW Office Suite and ELD systems.
