Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and engage in food preparation for both the restaurant and event catering, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality expectations.
  2. Assess food requirements and manage inventory orders as directed by the Food and Beverage Manager.
  3. Adhere to all food and beverage purchasing agreements and vendor contracts.
  4. Contribute to menu development and updates to align with customer preferences and budgetary guidelines.
  5. Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor kitchen personnel.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring adherence to health regulations.
  7. Monitor stock levels, conduct weekly inventory checks, and manage food costs through proper handling and portion control.
  8. Address maintenance issues related to kitchen equipment as necessary.
  9. Assist with the setup and breakdown of club events when required.
  10. Compile reports and information for the Food and Beverage Manager in a timely manner.
  11. Participate actively in regular staff meetings.
  12. Demonstrate commitment to the club's success by providing excellent service and fostering positive interactions with all staff and guests.
  13. Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  14. Maintain regular and punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts.

Qualifications

  1. Exceptional customer service skills.
  2. Ability to manage, organize, and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  3. Strong verbal communication skills.
  4. Extensive knowledge of culinary practices.
  5. Understanding of safe food handling procedures and the ability to maintain a secure kitchen environment.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office and POS systems.

Education and Experience

  1. Preferred: Associate's degree in culinary arts.
  2. Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory culinary role.
  3. Certification as a Food Protection Manager (ServSafe Manager Certification).

Physical Requirements

  • Visual and auditory capabilities for reading documents and communicating effectively.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Dexterity for typing, writing, and using kitchen equipment.
  • Capability to lift items exceeding 25 pounds.
