RGA Reinsurance Company is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will develop and implement predictive modeling solutions and commercial applications for both RGA internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of predictive modeling for various applications.
  • Create and develop data processing tools for different data sources, including tables, texts, and images.
  • Perform tests and develop diagnostic methodology to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data processing pipelines.
  • Validate and clean data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and integrity for effective modeling.
  • Participate in research-related activities.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in math, physics, statistics, engineering, computer science, computational neuroscience/biology, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as C/C++, Java, Python, or R.
  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, including GLM, k-NN, decision Trees, and neural networks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and debugging skills.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design and application architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with data technologies, such as Spark, HDFS, Hive, HBase, and GPU processing.
  • Knowledge and experience with image processing, computer vision, and NLP.
