Position Overview:
As a key member of the management team, the Construction Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the construction, maintenance, and repair of essential water and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and engage in all construction-related activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
2. Monitor in-house and contracted functions, maintaining accurate records and establishing effective work practices and emergency protocols.
3. Develop comprehensive plans and budgets, assign job responsibilities, and conduct performance evaluations of team members.
4. Collaborate with various departments including customer service, engineering, and public information to address and resolve customer inquiries related to construction activities.

Field Oversight:
Conduct field inspections to provide guidance and ensure safe practices among employees and contractors. Review construction plans and perform final site inspections to uphold quality assurance.

Compliance and Safety:
Manage the processing of encroachments and ensure adherence to safety standards, including OSHA regulations. Oversee the safety of construction operations and maintain thorough recordkeeping.

Team Leadership:
Lead work crews in the repair and maintenance of water and sewer systems, ensuring efficient operations and addressing any identified issues. Coordinate efforts during emergency situations and oversee road closures in accordance with regulations.

Essential Functions:
This role requires participation in on-call situations outside of regular hours, responding to emergencies as needed. The Construction Operations Manager is expected to foster a culture of inclusion and collaboration within the organization.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Eight years of experience in construction management, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
- Ability to obtain relevant state-certified licenses for water or wastewater treatment and a valid CDL license.
