Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site-Civil Engineering Team Lead to join our team in Laurel, MD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a site/civil engineering team in the land development market in Maryland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grow the portfolio of the Laurel, MD-based land development/site civil engineering team by identifying and developing new business opportunities, including positioning with clients in advance of RFP issue.
  • Pursue work with public and private clients in Maryland, strengthening existing relationships with internal technical teams at Stantec and pursuing more work with them in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Manage projects to achieve technical quality and financial performance metrics, contributing to enhancing Stantec's strong reputation for delivering high-quality work to our clients.
  • Nurture and develop the Laurel, MD-based land development/civil engineering team by supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff, providing guidance on technical issues, project management, and career development.
Requirements
  • Certified Professional Engineer in Virginia and/or Maryland required, with Certified PE in West Virginia and/or District of Columbia also preferred.
  • Ability to lead teams of professionals engaged in civil engineering design and construction administration.
  • Participates and collaborates in project team settings, engaging in creative and critical thought.
  • Capable of developing new business in engineering services, including identifying, positioning for, and preparing proposals for individual business opportunities.
  • Advanced understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
  • Strong presentation and interview skills, with effective communication and ability to work on and lead teams.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Site/Civil Engineering, including Land Development, with previous experience with Public and/or Private Clients in the Mid-Atlantic Region in Site/Civil Engineering required.
