Job Summary

Marin Community Clinics is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative Bilingual to join our team. As a key member of our call center team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and other callers, navigating services, and answering questions on behalf of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer questions related to appointments, schedules, or reschedule appointments for medical and dental clinics.
  • Work closely with other clinic staff to assist callers in obtaining answers to their questions.
  • Answer a high volume of inbound and outbound calls with questions or concerns via phone from patients.
  • Answer calls and respond timely and professionally to inquiries; follow up on questions to ensure callers receive the information needed.
  • Research required information using accessible resources.
  • Route tasks, inbound calls to appropriate departments.
  • Work closely with patients to complete appointment details for appointment scheduling.
  • Manage and escalate priority issues or concerns to management.
  • Timely notify appropriate personnel of any scheduling changes caused by patient cancellations.
  • Manage urgent calls as they arise and follow provision of patient care policies as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned, such as helping pull, log, and respond to patient voice-mails.
Requirements
  • High School degree is required.
  • College education is a plus.
  • 1+ years of relevant call center/customer service experience in a healthcare environment is highly desired.
  • Previous experience with the Electronic Health Records (EPIC) is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to handle all interactions with patients with empathy and compassion.
  • Must have strong communication skills in English and Spanish, written and verbally.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are required for this role.
  • Ability to work in an individual or team environment in a fast-paced call center office environment.
  • Strong attention to detail ability.
  • Ability to multitask and complete tasks timely.
  • Ability to follow up on assigned tasks or other projects assigned by manager.
  • Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot through incoming calls.
  • Willingness to take initiative.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Use of repetitive mouse movements, keyboard, and headset.
  • Moderate to loud noise and intermittent interruptions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate keyboards, fax machines, telephones, and other business equipment.
