Event Operations Specialist

Position Summary:

This is an on-call, hourly position that focuses on ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and satisfaction of our clients and their guests during PRA events. The role encompasses client engagement, event oversight, logistical management, and the execution of activities in accordance with program guidelines, the Schedule of Services, and PRA's policies and procedures. This position does not require commuting to an office but necessitates in-person attendance at events.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Client and Guest Engagement: Prioritize the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests. Represent PRA with professionalism at all times.
  • Event Execution: Adhere to program specifications and company protocols to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Knowledge Maintenance: Stay informed about local attractions, accommodations, points of interest, dining options, theme parks, transportation systems, historical context, weather trends, current events, and general information.
  • Professional Appearance: Maintain a polished and professional look in the PRA uniform.
  • Guest Communication: Address guest inquiries with promptness and importance.
  • Team Collaboration: Follow guidance from Event Producers, Directors of Event Production, Lead Staff, or Event Production Coordinators. Collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Documentation: Complete event-related paperwork in a timely manner, including timesheets, expense reports, and incident reports.
  • Pre-Event Preparation: Assist with pre-event logistics, including routing, signage, and organizing the Hospitality Desk.
  • Issue Management: Report any issues or situations to the Event Production lead.
  • General Conduct: Exhibit courtesy and respect towards guests, clients, colleagues, and supplier partners. Assist with additional tasks as required.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • At least one year of experience in hospitality, tour guiding, or destination management.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., tour guide, trip director) are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with local hotels, tourist attractions, airports, and other venues.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including public relations and communication capabilities.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations while upholding high ethical standards.
  • Proficiency with technology (smartphones, tablets, computers, printers) and the capacity to respond swiftly to staffing app notifications, log hours worked, and submit expense reports punctually.

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand for extended periods, and walk distances of at least 100 yards repeatedly.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and reach.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; regularly lift and/or move at least 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals associated with office/transportation work.
  • Varying noise levels in the work environment.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license for the state in which the employee performs driving duties.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance when representing PRA to clients, guests, supplier partners, and the community.

Compensation: $16-$50 per hour based on market conditions, skill level, and language proficiency.
