Position Overview: We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Process Engineer to provide expertise in manufacturing and process engineering. This role involves hands-on engineering responsibilities for project design, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop layout and manufacturing schematics in accordance with established Engineering and Manufacturing Standards.
  • Offer technical design assistance to the Project Leader.
  • Oversee and mentor design teams and individual designers as necessary.
  • Comprehend project scope, timelines, and budgetary constraints, ensuring adherence to these parameters.
  • Lead and participate in both internal and external design evaluations, considering the integration of various disciplines.
  • Adhere to established project control protocols.
  • Prepare formal project documentation, including transmittals and drawing requests.
  • Engage directly with clients throughout all project phases.
  • Manage individual project assignments effectively.
  • Coordinate with designers on projects involving processes, machinery upgrades, piping, and utilities.
  • Possess the ability to interpret and create Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Design components for machinery, HVAC systems, piping, and steam and compressed air systems.
  • Assess total design requirements for project estimation and management, accurately tracking costs associated with various project tasks.
  • Define scope alterations in collaboration with clients.
  • Direct and train Designers, CAD Operators, Technicians, and other Engineers as needed.
  • Interface with construction supervisors on-site.
  • Conduct comprehensive project design requirements, including field equipment audits, revision of existing drawings, creation of project scope documents, and on-site start-up procedures.
  • Experience in paper manufacturing or converting is advantageous.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
  • 3D CAD skills are a plus.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is required.
  • A PE License in the State of GA is preferred, along with any other necessary state licenses.
