Key Responsibilities- Database Management: Conduct data entry and collection maintenance using SirsiDynix's EOS or other comparable library information systems.
- Cataloging and Classification: Perform queries using library database software, searching by title, call number, serial number, personal or corporate author, etc.
- Digitization and Conversion: Digitize books and other bound materials using dedicated book scanning equipment, and convert outdated/obsolete disk, audio visual, and other media to more current or usable format.
- Document Retrieval and Maintenance: Retrieve documents for library users, re-shelve documents, and search for documents not in place.
- Security and Compliance: Monitor personnel and activity in the library to ensure compliance with established information and physical security protocols, and verify library user clearances as users enter the library.
- Education: An associate degree in library science, Information Systems, Management, or other relevant field is required, plus at least two (2) years of recent experience performing tasks associated with the operation of a technical library.
- Skills: Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Professional and Microsoft Office Software, with direct experience using technical databases or publication systems, such as SirsiDynix, desired.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 30 pounds and possess accurate data entry skills with a typing speed of 35 WPM.
- Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start, and applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
