Objective:

The role is pivotal in steering the implementation of established category strategies at a local level. This position oversees the Operational Procurement Team, focusing on identifying and leveraging opportunities for cost efficiency, cost avoidance, and enhancements in service delivery. The Director will provide strategic guidance and direction to the local team, ensuring the effective execution of procurement strategies to realize these advantages. Building robust and effective partnerships with internal stakeholders, regional category teams, and external suppliers is essential for the successful rollout of procurement initiatives and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the local execution of the defined category strategy, collaborating closely with the Local Category Manager and Divisional Procurement team.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and service enhancements, providing clear guidelines and direction to the local team for effective procurement execution.
  • Drive annual cost savings, margin improvements, and other procurement benefits through the application of best-in-class procurement methodologies.
  • Deliver monthly reports detailing savings, benefits, key initiatives, and projects via the development of an effective Procurement Management dashboard (KPIs).
  • Align procurement and portfolio strategies with overarching business objectives.
  • Take overall responsibility for delivering the procurement category strategy and plans across all channels, supported by sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, selection, and evaluation.
  • Manage supplier relationships proactively to ensure value delivery through growth.
  • Accountable for achieving profitability targets.
  • Analyze and interpret results, trends, and the business environment to enhance procurement performance.
  • Utilize advanced procurement principles to achieve optimal cost outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated willingness to collaborate within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required.
