Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Specialist to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our website, as well as ensuring the security and integrity of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop websites and web applications using various programming languages and frameworks.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against cyber threats and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to identify and prioritize IT projects and initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and training to faculty and staff on the use of our website and other IT systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in IT and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT systems administration, web development, and network security.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, such as Java, Python, and C++.
  • Experience with web development frameworks, such as React and Angular.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Colleague, or ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
