Position Overview:

Williams College is in search of a skilled and dedicated Employment Manager to enhance our recruitment and outreach initiatives. This role, reporting to the Director for Employee Engagement & Experience, is crucial in shaping our staffing strategies and ensuring an inclusive hiring process. Our HR team, consisting of four members, is committed to fostering a welcoming and equitable workplace that values diverse experiences and perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

The Employment Manager will lead and coordinate various human resources functions, particularly focusing on recruitment and outreach efforts. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Advising hiring managers on effective recruitment methodologies.
  • Developing and executing sourcing strategies, including collaboration with external agencies as necessary.
  • Working alongside HR Business Partners and Compensation teams to establish competitive salary structures and analyze current market trends.
  • Facilitating job postings and serving as a resource for hiring managers on recruitment protocols, interview processes, and inclusivity standards.
  • Providing training for interviewers and creating tools to assist managers throughout the hiring and selection journey.
  • Monitoring applicant pools, offering recommendations, and gathering feedback from managers during the recruitment process.
  • Evaluating recruitment and employment data to ensure fairness and eliminate any adverse impacts on applicants.
  • Conducting interviews, either independently or with search committees, while communicating comprehensive benefits information and discussing salary expectations.
  • Addressing applicant inquiries through both verbal and written communication.
  • Making compensation offer recommendations in collaboration with the Director and managing the offer negotiation process.
  • Representing the college at local and regional job fairs.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in recruitment is essential.
  • A solid understanding of HR practices, employment legislation, and market dynamics is required.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups is essential.
  • Technical proficiency and familiarity with applicant tracking systems are required (experience with Workday and Google Suite is preferred).
