Job Summary
MaineHealth is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team in the Child Unit at Spring Harbor Hospital. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with acute mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a working knowledge of therapeutic interventions and interactions for common diagnoses of the population served.
- Maintain the unit schedule and facilitate timely transitions.
- Assist patients with Daily Living Skills (ADLs) as directed by an RN.
Essential Functions:
- Follow patient treatment and behavior plans.
- Conduct environmental rounds as assigned and remove any sharps or prohibited items.
- Facilitate milieu-based community groups and leisure/recreation groups.
- Accompany patients on transports as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma and equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Services preferred.
