Aquatic Safety Educator

Under the direct guidance of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Aquatic Safety Educator is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality swimming and water safety education within the facilities managed by Lorain County Metropolitan Park District.

Position Type: Independent Contractor

Compensation: $12.00-$15.00/Hourly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts swim lessons and related aquatic classes.
  • Implements and upholds facility policies and procedures regarding water safety.
  • Assists in the preparation and cleanup of aquatic events.
  • Instructs participants in a clear and professional manner.
  • Records attendance for each class session.
  • Completes timecard accurately for hours worked.
  • Fosters positive relationships with participants, offering encouragement and support.
  • Reports any needs, concerns, or issues to the Facility Coordinator.
Qualifications:
  • Current Red Cross First Aid Certification is required.
  • Must hold a valid Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.
  • Red Cross CPR certification is mandatory.
