Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team and contribute to the financial operations supporting the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Mid-Atlantic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough reviews of funding documentation to ensure accuracy, legality, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Extract and analyze financial data from accounting records and systems to generate insightful reports.
  • Investigate material and contract expenses, maintain accurate files, and rectify discrepancies within accounting systems.
  • Examine invoices and financial statements, conducting analysis and reconciliation of journals or subsidiary ledgers.
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial technicians to guarantee compliance with government deliverables.
  • Oversee company leadership requirements, including time tracking and training obligations.
  • Provide support to the government lead as necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate to occasional loud noise levels typical of a business office or operational site.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer workstation.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, communicate, and hear effectively.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer is required.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel (0-10%) is anticipated for this role.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (4 years).
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Department of Defense (DOD) and Financial Management Regulation (FMR) accounting practices.
  • Familiarity with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, including budget documentation.
  • Proven experience in leading teams effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a strong client service orientation.
  • Professional proficiency in English is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in government contracting.
  • Knowledge of Department of the Navy (DON) reimbursable order processing and invoice management.
  • Experience with CFMS, STARS, and/or SABRS systems (2+ years).
  • Familiarity with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Understanding of NAVFAC operations, particularly within the Public Works Business Line.
