About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead BizOps Engineer to join our team at Mastercard. As a key member of our Business Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and stability of our production environment for data platforms, business intelligence platforms, and data cloud.

As a Lead BizOps Engineer, you will lead and coach a team of Site Reliability Engineers, define strategies for application performance monitoring, unit cost, and chaos engineering, and find ways for continuous optimizations in a production environment.

You will also be responsible for ensuring reliable, fault-tolerant, efficiently scalable, and cost-effective data, services, and infrastructures, and maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.

We are looking for a strong leader who can help us design, analyze, and troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems, and who has a passion for automation and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coach a team of Site Reliability Engineers
  • Define strategies for application performance monitoring, unit cost, and chaos engineering
  • Find ways for continuous optimizations in a production environment
  • Ensure reliable, fault-tolerant, efficiently scalable, and cost-effective data, services, and infrastructures
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
  • Design, analyze, and troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems
  • Have a passion for automation and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar field
  • 8+ years of experience in managing large production platforms
  • 5+ years of experience in industry standard CI/CD tools (Git, BitBucket, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible)
  • Experience architecting and implementing data governance processes and tooling (data catalogs, lineage tools, role-based access control, PII handling)
  • Strong coding ability in Python or other languages like Java, C#, Golang, C, C++, Shell script, Perl or Ruby etc., and a solid grasp of SQL fundamentals
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
  • Ability to help debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
  • Ability to support many different stakeholders
