Job Overview

Apex Art Lab is a boutique firm dedicated to art installations and bespoke picture framing solutions. We are currently seeking a skilled Art Installation Specialist to manage both residential and commercial projects. This role will initially offer 24-32 hours per week, typically spanning 3-4 days, with the potential for increased hours in the future. Working hours will generally fall between Monday and Thursday from 9 AM to 6 PM, with some flexibility required for occasional early starts or late finishes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting professional art hanging services in clients' residences.
  • Offering expert consultations on art placement, including collages and groupings, ensuring optimal height and arrangement.
  • Executing large-scale installations in commercial environments, utilizing T-lock security hardware.
  • Occasionally installing additional fixtures that are wall-mounted.
  • Managing deliveries and pickups of art pieces.
  • Handling fine art with care and precision.
  • Preparing art for transport through proper packing techniques.

Depending on the selected candidate and weekly scheduling, there may be opportunities for additional tasks within our production facility or showroom. These tasks could encompass picture framing, assisting with art sourcing, and contributing to marketing efforts.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in art handling is essential.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools such as drills, tape measures, and levels.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including measuring and working with fractions.
  • A keen eye for design aesthetics.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • A friendly demeanor and flexibility to engage with diverse clients.
  • Punctuality is critical.
  • Physical ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in real-time situations.
Preferred Experience:
  • Background in art handling or related fields.
  • Experience in custom picture framing.
  • Knowledge of interior design principles.
  • Skills in craftsmanship or construction.
  • Experience as an art consultant.
