About this Opportunity

Cenovus Energy, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Materials Management team as a Supply Chain Management Intern. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining Requests for Quotes for MRP replenishment items, supporting Contract Lifecycle Management, and expediting purchases. You will also investigate receiving and invoicing discrepancies, analyze and enhance material data, and complete warehouse analysis and reporting on an ad hoc basis.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain Requests for Quotes for MRP replenishment items
  • Support Contract Lifecycle Management
  • P-Card process management and reconciliation
  • Expediting purchases
  • Investigate receiving and invoicing discrepancies
  • Analyze and enhance material data
  • Complete warehouse analysis and reporting on an ad hoc basis
  • Support the Procure-to-Pay process for goods and services
  • Identify cost reductions and mitigate risks
  • Support vendor setup and contract closeout processes
  • Basic contract negotiations with stakeholder engagement
Requirements
  • Available to begin work on January 6, 2025
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid US Driver's License required
  • Previous experience considered an asset
  • Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe and cautious manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in SCM or any Business-related degree
  • Preference given to students in 3rd or 4th year
  • Availability for multiple work terms preferred
  • Strong academic performance
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the scheduled semester
Working Conditions
  • May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.
Safety Sensitive
  • This is a safety-sensitive role and requires the operation of a motor vehicle
  • Valid US Driver's License with no restrictions required
Relocation
  • Students moving for their work term may be eligible to receive a lump sum payment to assist with relocation expenses
