Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Loyola Medicine. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing and interpreting ultrasound procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and demonstrate competence in ultrasonic scanning procedures, producing and evaluating ultrasound images and related data for accurate medical diagnosis.
  • Recognize, identify, and document normal anatomy, abnormalities, disease, pathology, and pathophysiology for accurate medical diagnosis.
  • Perform all types of ultrasound procedures and services in accordance with department protocol to ensure appropriate patient care for patients in all age categories.
  • Complete ultrasonic scans within given procedure time parameters to expedite patient care.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree from an accredited two-year Ultrasound Program or equivalent training acquired via work experience.
  • Specific Degree(s): AMA approved Sonography program; Graduate of a CAAHEP approved school of Ultrasound Technology.
  • Less than one year of previous job-related experience.
  • New Graduates: 9-month ultrasound coursework experience including clinical rotation.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Licensure/Certifications
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association ONLY.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Specialization in Abdomen, Ob/Gyn, or PS.
  • Other: New Graduate obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
