Job Summary

Prestonwood Baptist Church is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to provide administrative support to the HR department. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including scheduling appointments, creating employee files, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and ordering office supplies.
  • Employee Files: Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files, including personnel records and benefits information.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure all documents are filed timely and accurately, and maintain accurate records of employee data.
  • HRIS: Input data into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • New Hire Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding process for new employees, including initiating and monitoring new hire checklists and ensuring background screening and reference check processes are followed.
  • Employee Support: Assist employees with Employee Self-Service time keeping tool and maintain staff photos in HRIS and electronic folder.
  • Background Checks: Complete monthly employment background check processes and maintain results in the Church Management System (CRM) and HRIS.
  • Payroll: Assist with after payroll filing and update organization charts.
  • Recruiting: Assist with external recruiting opportunities and document HR processes.
  • Projects: Assist with HR department-related projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: College education, prior recruiting experience a plus.
  • Skills: Strong attention to and accuracy in detail, ability to multitask, problem solve, and work with a sense of urgency, proficiency with Microsoft Office products with Excel emphasis, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry, ability to demonstrate compassion in employee relations while ensuring alignment with PBC's mission.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as walking, stooping, lifting, pushing/pulling a cart, use of stairs, and able to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
