Apple's Audio and Media Technologies group (AMT) is on the lookout for a seasoned software engineering leader to enhance our Streaming Media division.
The Streaming Media division is at the forefront of developing essential technologies that enable exceptional audio-visual experiences across Apple's ecosystem (iPhones/iPads, Apple TV, Apple Watch, macOS, and Vision Pro).
We are also the pioneers behind the HTTP Live Streaming protocol, recognized as one of the leading adaptive bitrate streaming solutions in the market.
Your role will involve shaping innovative features and experiences for upcoming OS releases while contributing to the evolution of video streaming technologies.Key Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineering Manager for Streaming Media, your responsibilities will include:
• Leading a dynamic team of engineers focused on developing cutting-edge features in streaming media.
• Pushing the boundaries of innovation by crafting compelling designs at the forefront of technical possibilities.
• Contributing to the overarching design of media systems, including performance analysis and optimization strategies.
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of new features.
Essential Qualifications:
• Proven software development experience in C.
• Exceptional prioritization skills and a strong focus on objectives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in multi-threaded development and synchronization techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of Operating Systems fundamentals (virtual memory, IPC, CPU scheduling, file systems, IO management, application execution, etc.).
• Experience in debugging and resolving software issues using system profiling and network analysis tools (e.g., GDB/LLDB, Valgrind, Xcode Instruments, Wireshark, etc.).
Education & Experience:
• BS/MS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a specific range. This allows for growth as you develop within your role.
The base pay range for this position is between $181,000 and $313,000, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees have the chance to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.Additionally, employees may be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
