Apple's Audio and Media Technologies group (AMT) is on the lookout for a seasoned software engineering leader to enhance our Streaming Media division.

The Streaming Media division is responsible for the essential technologies that deliver innovative audio-visual experiences across Apple's platforms, including iPhones, iPads, Apple TV, Apple Watch, macOS, and Vision Pro.

We proudly developed the HTTP Live Streaming protocol, recognized as one of the industry's leading adaptive bitrate streaming solutions.

In this role, you will engage in the design of pioneering features and experiences for upcoming OS releases while contributing to the evolution of video streaming technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineering Manager for Streaming Media, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a dynamic team of engineers focused on developing innovative features in streaming media.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation by working on compelling designs that push the boundaries of technology.
  • Contributing to the overall architecture of media systems, including performance analysis and optimizations.
Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration and deployment of new features.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive software development experience in C.
  • Exceptional prioritization skills and a strong focus on outcomes.
  • Proficient problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication abilities.
  • Solid expertise in multi-threaded development and synchronization techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of Operating Systems fundamentals, including virtual memory, IPC, CPU scheduling, file systems, and I/O management.
  • Experience in debugging and resolving software issues using system profiling and network analysis tools.
Education & Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 5-10 years in the field.

Compensation & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth as you develop within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $181,000 and $313,000, with actual pay depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the chance to become shareholders through participation in our discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and stock purchase plans at a discount.
