Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a skilled and experienced Ecologist for immediate employment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data management, risk evaluation, and statistical analysis; prepare and organize environmental data and its sources.
  • Oversee various risk assessment projects of differing complexities and sizes, managing scope, schedule, and budget effectively.
  • Perform statistical evaluations, exposure assessments, and risk characterization for projects governed by state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and technical documents detailing risk assessment methodologies and findings.
  • Apply scientific principles and existing technologies to devise solutions for technical challenges with limited scope.
  • Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client relationship management.
  • Provide expertise in ecological risk assessments, develop technical strategies, and liaise with regulatory bodies.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering their development and recruitment.
  • Utilize statistical software (e.g., R, ProUCL) effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. Driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Toxicology, or Biology.
  • Over 8 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • A minimum of 4 years directly related to ecological risk evaluations and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Experience in developing effective business proposals for high-value environmental services.
  • Ability to operate independently on technical matters related to ecological risk assessment and compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in technical writing and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize multiple tasks, think strategically, and manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with probabilistic ecological risk assessments and biostatistics.
