About the Position

As Assistant Director in the Native American Cultural Center, you will play a critical role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for Native students, staff, and faculty at Stanford University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote Indigenous cultural awareness, language preservation, and artistic expression.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement strategic plans that advance the mission of the NACC.
  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to Native students, providing guidance and support to help them succeed academically and personally.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Master's degree and 2+ years of experience, or combination of education and relevant experience, is strongly preferred.
  • Student affairs, academic, or work experience related to the fields of education, social work, community organizing, arts & media organization, counseling psychology, race & ethnic studies, alumni relations, or other work and training in the social sciences with a focus on access and belonging.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with Native & Indigenous students and communities.
