Family Partner I Job Description

Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is a dynamic organization dedicated to providing culturally responsive services that cultivate mental and physical resilience and wellness. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Partner I to join our team.

Job Summary

The Family Partner I provides direct care to identified parents and caregivers in a community or home setting. This role involves providing one-on-one support and mentorship to parents and caregivers, and/or participants or other family members, by sharing experience and expertise in navigating systems and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support and mentorship to parents and caregivers, and/or participants or other family members.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other community and treatment team members to provide the best therapeutic care possible.
  • Support and implement an individualized, evidence-based, culturally competent, family-centered approach.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services to young adults or Transition Aged Youth (TAY).
Requirements
  • Experience advocating for someone who has received mental health or other services.
  • Possess good communication skills, including active listening.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize de-escalation techniques that align with the trauma-informed care model.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and/or competency with electronic clinical documentation.
  • Current CA Driver's License with a clean driving record or ability to obtain one within 10 days after hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A.A. or B.A. Degree.
  • Prior parent mentoring experience.
  • Experience in group facilitation skills.
  • Familiarity with local communities.
  • Case management, familiarity with symptoms of mental illness, and service documentation/record keeping experience.
