Our laboratories are located on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses and provide services on an inpatient and outpatient basis, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, virology, serology, blood bank, immunology/flow cytometry, histology, and pathology.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Lab Care Technician I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing blood collections in a safe, accurate, and professional manner on all age groups and degrees of difficulty.
The ideal candidate will also be able to monitor patients for unexpected reactions, respond to emergency situations as required, and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
Additional responsibilities include providing customer service, scanning manual orders, glucose tolerance collection, sweat chloride collection, and waived laboratory testing.
The Lab Care Technician I will also be responsible for specimen receipt, assessment, and pre-analytical processing services per written policies and procedures.
Interacting with patients, their families, and employees in a pleasant, efficient, and cooperative manner, exhibiting sensitivity to cultural differences is also an essential part of this role.
Work ScheduleThis is a 0.8 FTE position with various start times available, including morning and evening shifts.
The position is located on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses.
