Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Job Summary
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II plays a critical role in the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays at Children's Hospital of Orange County. This position requires a strong background in clinical laboratory science and the ability to work independently under the guidance of a director. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in biological science and at least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Proficiency in computer systems and software used in the functional area is also required.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement new diagnostic assays
• Perform assay and equipment validation
• Author standard operating procedures and develop training and competency documents
• Ensure quality and regulatory compliance
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in biological science
• At least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
• Proficiency in computer systems and software used in the functional area
Preferred Qualifications
• Two to five years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
• American Society of Clinical Pathology certification
Work Environment
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II will work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
Physical Demands
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II will be required to lift 10 pounds and push/pull a 20-pound cart. The position will also require sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
