We are seeking a Temporary Legal Secretary to provide essential support to our General Litigation Division. This role involves a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
The Legal Secretary will collaborate closely with attorneys, delivering comprehensive secretarial and administrative assistance. The primary duties include:
- Drafting documents for both federal and state court cases.
- Preparing reports for organizational approvals.
- Managing settlement documentation.
- Utilizing legal software effectively.
- Composing general correspondence.
- Coordinating meetings and organizing case files.
- Engaging in extensive communication via phone and email with the public and various departments.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of one year of experience in personal injury litigation, preferably in a defense capacity.
- Strong typing skills with a focus on accuracy and speed.
- Exceptional initiative and attention to detail.
- Professional communication skills for interactions with the public and internal departments.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Proficiency in using personal computer systems and software.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
At least one year of experience in clerical or secretarial roles is required.
Work Environment:
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for this position. The role requires daily on-site presence, and remote work is not an option.
